Newly covered ottoman using and old sweater.
It was Monday and I was off the the local thrift store for .50 Monday. Oh how I love this day. With $7.00 in hand and a list of items that I needed I was off. My daughter just joined Speech so she is in need of some business attire. Only grabbing yellow tagged items (that's the .50 color this week) I was alble to grab 4 suit jackets and one floor length skirt. The one item that I needed for the house was a large or XL sweater to cover an ugly blue and white ottoman that had seen better days. Bingo! Of course the large grey sweater had a yellow tag. I grabbed a few items for me and so with all of my $7.00 spent I headed home.
Covering the Ottoman
1. Lay the sweater over the ottoman, making sure that it lays the way you want it to. I thought about having the buttons across the top, but I plan on using that idea next week.
2. With a staple gun, staple one side of the sweater to the bottom of the ottoman. Next staple the opposit side you just did, pulling the sweater enough to keep it from sliding under foot, but not to tight as to show the old cover underneath.
3 Staple the remaining ends in the same manner
4. Corners, Don't pull these to tight, try using a hospital corner to cut back on the bulk, Cut off any remaing fabric and WALA, a beautiful new peice of furniture for .50.
